Refuge of Hope at the Open Door Chapel-Canton, OH

The mission of Refuge of Hope at the Open Door Chapel is to provide spiritual hope, food, clothing, and shelter to people in crisis in the greater Canton area.

The vision of Refuge of Hope is “to transform the lives of the people we serve into godly, productive members of society. We will do this by meeting both their physical and spiritual needs. We offer not only hot meals to the hungry, clothing to those in need, shelter to the homeless, but also a hope and future possible only by introducing them to our creator. We strive to be an organization that is a benefit not only to those in need, but also to our volunteers and the community at large."-Ken Shallenberger, Executive Director of Refuge of Hope

The Refuge of Hope at the Open Door Chapel serves meals, provides clothing, offers youth programs, counseling and spiritual nurture and has a homeless shelter on the "drawing board" which is projected to be open in 2005.
