Who We Are
Our vision: To become a movement of churches that anyone can come to and become fully what God intends them to be.
Our mission/purpose: A Church Anyone Can Come To and Become Fully What God Intends Them to Be.
Our strategy to accomplish this:
Because of our deep love relationship with God, we are committed to:
- Loving the lost and offering them new and eternal life.
- Learning and growing in community.
- Living the life that God has always wanted us to live, and,
- Leading by giving ourselves away.
The objective of the church is to create an informal environment for learning about God through up-to-date music, practical real-life messages and the development of authentic relationships with others that challenge us in our journey with God.
With over 40 years of history behind it, RiverTree has been reaching out to Stark County and beyond. RiverTree, formerly Jackson Christian Church, began on Easter Sunday 1964 as a church plant of Canton First Christian Church to serve the surrounding area. Since then, RiverTree has grown in numbers and is committed to reaching out and serving the 244,000 unchurched people in the surrounding area.
RiverTree Christian Church is a non-denominational church. Local Elders are installed by the congregation to independently govern us. RiverTree does not belong to any denominational boards, hierarchies, or voting associations. We do, however, develop relationships with other Christian Churches of a similar faith and heritage for support and encouragement.
