RIVERTREE CHRISTIAN CHURCH BENEVOLENCE TEAM PURPOSE STATEMENT

I. PURPOSE

The purpose of the Benevolence Team is to minister to those in need, both financially and spiritually.

II. BIBLICAL FOUNDATION

Matthew 25:35-36, 40
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me... I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”

Proverbs 6:6-11 - not to support the lazy

III. OBJECTIVES

A. To bring those in need to a closer relationship with Christ by witnessing, sharing in prayer and providing food, clothing, housing or financial assistance.

B. To access the reason for need and assist the person in obtaining resources to overcome the need.

IV. MINISTRY PERSONNEL
The Benevolence Team consists of RiverTree Christian Church partners. The Team must include a Pastor or an Elder as one of the team members.
