Housewarming Program for weatherization/insulation and home improvements provided, at no cost, to qualified households. Repairs or replaces furnaces using natural gas only at no cost to the applicant. Provides home self-improvement information and housing referral information. Family, youth, and economic development. Eligibility: based on income~ different criteria based on program guidelines.

Offers grants and loans to qualified households for improving home conditions. Grants are not to exceed $4,000.00 in a five-year period. Home must have been owned for at least one year. Applicants must live within the City limits of Canton to qualify.

Provides a one time only grant and/or low-interest loan for qualified homeowners to rehab their homes. Work can include electric, plumbing, roofs, windows, furnaces, siding, flooring, wall repairs, etc. Work that makes a house decent, safe, and sanitary usually qualifies. General home remodeling does not qualify. Projects may go up to $25,000. Homeowners may qualify by income, based upon HUD’s most current median income limits for our area. A homeowner must be the owner of record for one year prior to applying for assistance. A homeowner must live within the participating political units of Stark County. This includes all areas of the county, excluding the cities of Canton, Massillon, Alliance, and the village of Hills & Dales.
