Lay Counseling
Are you spiritually or emotionally hurting? Does an unexpected or an ongoing crisis have you overwhelmed? God wants to help you get into a safe place with good counsel to help you with these difficulties. You don’t have to do it alone. Who is RiverTree Lay Counseling For? RiverTree partners, regular attenders, or people who have a relationship with some- one who attends RiverTree.

Who does Lay Counseling?
Counseling is done by volunteers trained extensively by our pastoral staff (through the American Association of Christian Counselors) to handle many issues. Our lay counselors are also supervised by licensed professional counselors. If your situation requires professional counseling, we will make a referral to a professional Christian counselor that best suits your needs.

What is the cost?
Free. Our counselors are trained volunteers therefore we are able to offer these services with no fee. This ministry is supported by the church and the elders.

How do I talk to someone about Lay Counseling?
Call the Portage Street Campus at 330.494.1860 or email laycounseling@rivertreechristian.com if you are interested in a lay counseling appointment. Someone will then schedule a time to meet with you to discuss your needs, and then decide which lay counselor will be the best fit for helping you.
