Name: Kathy R. Specht

Where you are from:
Born and raised in Wooster, Ohio.

Your Story (How you got to RiverTree):
After graduating from college, my husband Steve and I landed our first post college jobs in the Canton area. We bought a home in Jackson Township and occasionally attended church, but never settled into a church home. After our son and daughter were born we really wanted to get back into a church. It wasn’t until my sister died in February of 1990 and I was “rocked to my core”, that we began to hunt for a church in earnest. In the fall of 1990, when our daughter was three, we enrolled her in preschool at Jackson Christian Preschool. We felt comfortable with the school and, through an invitation from someone on staff with the school, began to attend the church. The rest is history!

What you do at RiverTree:
Director of Logistics.

Family:
My husband Steve, son Jon, daughter Juliana and Missy, the cat.

Favorite Sports Team:
Cleveland Indians, during the summer; and The Ohio State Buckeyes, during the fall/winter.

The Sound of Music

Favorite Pastime:
Hanging out with my family at a beach…any beach!

Little Known Fact:
I come from a “blended family” of 11 children and know all about sharing!

Favorite Quote:
“That is unacceptable…”

Who would you most like to have dinner with:
Someone from the past—Oswald Chambers. His book, “My Utmost for His Highest” has inspired and encouraged me. I frequently pick it up when I need a “boost.” I’d like him to know how important this book has been in my life. Contemporary person—George W. Bush. He seems like someone you could have a good chat with.

What can you always find in my refrigerator:
Cheese—American, Swiss and Provolone
