Name: Toby N. Thomas

Where you are from:
Harlem, not New York but here in Ohio, about 8 miles south of Carrollton. I grew up with the cows, chickens, and pigs. The only thing ‘highrise’ in my neck of the woods was a silo. I did, however, live in NYC for a while which is where I met my wife. The classic farm boy meets city girl story.

Your Story (How you got to RiverTree):
My family and I were looking for a home church. We had visited several, including RiverTree, with no confirmation as to where we needed to be. As we continued to search, RiverTree people just kept showing up in our lives. Then, after attending a RiverTree THRIVE (small) group for about a year or so we finally got the message and plugged into RiverTree as our home. Even though I wish we had connected with RiverTree earlier we came at just the right time, God’s time.

What you do at RiverTree:
THRIVE Groups Director

Family:
My wife Elaine, daughter Serena, son Jake, and daughter Mikala. Born in that order.

Favorite Sports Team
Any team my children are on. Pros: Steelers, who else?

Favorite Movie:
Too many to name.

Favorite Pastime:
If it is outdoors, I am interested. You will most often find me mountainbiking, climbing, camping, fourwheeling, hiking, or kayaking. I do, however, love to mow my yard and just lie in the grass or lean against a tree.

Little Known Fact:
If I tell that, it would no longer be a little known fact.

Favorite Quote:
"What we do in life echoes in eternity." (Maximus- Gladiator)

Who would you most like to have dinner with?:
My wife alone. Since we have had kids, dinner with her alone is a pretty exclusive, or should I say elusive, booking.

What can you always find in my refrigerator?:
Milk. It does the body good. But, mostly because I just like it. Hail to the cows.
